Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information CACleaner and cacleaner.co.uk use. In short: CACleaner works on your PC, and we don't collect information about your files or what you clean.
What the app does on your PC
CACleaner scans and cleans files, browser data and settings on your computer. That all happens on your computer. We never receive the names, contents or details of your files, your browsing history or your cookies.
What the app sends over the internet
- Update checks: CACleaner checks GitHub for new versions of itself. GitHub sees your IP address, as with any download.
- Pro license checks: if you activate Pro, CACleaner sends your license key and your computer's name to Lemon Squeezy to check the key is valid. This happens when the app starts and every few hours.
- App and driver updates (Pro): the Software Updater and Driver Updater use Windows' own tools (winget and Windows Update), which contact Microsoft and app publishers.
When you buy Pro
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing address and payment details and shares your name, email and order details with us so we can support you. We never see your full card details. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy for how they handle your data.
The website
cacleaner.co.uk has no adverts and no tracking or analytics cookies. It's hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
How long we keep information
We keep order and support emails for as long as you're a customer and up to 6 years after, as UK tax rules require.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us at . You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Who we are
CACleaner is run by Craig Holmes, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for this information.
